CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are seeking the public’s help in locating Jason Zakel, a 16-year-old who was reported missing from a Slavic Village home by his child protection specialist on June 8.

Jason, described by police as a 5-foot-10-inch-tall, 135-pound white male with brown hair and blue eyes, was under emergency custody of a specialist from the county’s Children and Family Services Center who went to pick him up from his mother’s home in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood on June 8, according to a missing person report from Cleveland police. Jason’s mother said that he had been missing since June 5.

The specialist said that the mother would not cooperate with him on the filing of a missing person report for Jason, that she had no information about the whereabouts of her son, and has not been able to reach the mother since.

Anyone with information on Jason Zakel’s whereabouts should call the Cleveland Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 216-623-7697 or email Helpfindthemissing@city.cleveland.oh.us
