Additional nurses come forward after reporting delayed paychecks from CareSource Ohio

Posted

News 5 has new details on a story we broke on workers still on the job, not getting paid for months. On Tuesday, CareSource independent healthcare providers in Ohio reported delayed paychecks.

Since the story aired, even more nurses have come forward.

Registered Nurse Kim Clark said CareSource has not paid her for one of her patients in 2017. She said the company owes her more than $3,000.

Clark works as an independent provider in Madison, OH. She cares for extremely sick children, who need to be tube fed.

“They become your kids and you can't leave them, that would be like leaving my children, that would never happen,” she said.

She told News 5 that she has been waiting for more than five months for her paycheck.

“I have called, I have written letters,” she said, “I have talked to the liaison through Medicaid.”

The CareSource spokesperson sent us this response:

Our initial research indicates that the Independent Provider has had 97% of her claims paid as of today and has been paid consistently. According to our records the only claims pending are within our 30-day payment guidelines. We continue to work with all of our Independent Providers to ensure that claims submitted are accurate, so that payments are received in a timely manner.

Kim Clark confirmed she received most of her payments after treating one of her patients, but maintains that she has not been paid at all for her other patient.

Right now, Clark and CareSource both tell News 5 they are working together to resolve the issue. Stay with News 5 for updates on this story.
