Reports are circulating on social media claiming all Chipotle restaurants will close.
And while yes, a closure will take place — it isn't a permanent closure. In fact, it's only for a couple of hours on Feb. 8.
The restaurant chain has a planned national meeting with all employees. Stores will only be closed for a couple of hours, according to reports. The meeting centers on the recent E. coli outbreak.
Chipotle is reportedly developing a marketing strategy following plummeting sales believed to be tied to illness outbreaks — the company also dealt with norovirus outbreaks at a Boston, Massachusetts store and a restaurant in Simi Valley, California.
According to the Associated Press, Chipotle said it can't reasonably predict sales trends following the food scares. The company retracted its 2016 forecast.
