A Missouri reporter decided it was time to inform the world on just where and how great the Midwest is.

  • Editor's note: Props to Kevin Eck of TVSpy.com for coining the term "Midwest-splaining" in his Tweet about this video.

After all, our region is the heart and soul of America--or the torso, if you will.

Jeff Houghton took to his Facebook page as America's Midwest Foreign Correspondent, because "very few reporters" are assigned to the area to tell others just how cool it is.

"There's actually a diversity of people here," he said. "I'm told they've actually chosen to live here."

Houghton is a reporter with Fox affiliate KRBK in Springfield, Mo.

The Midwest is considered America's torso with 12 states, he said.

"The Midwest is the only thing separating Canada from The South and the inevitable git’r done/I’m so sorry war.” - Jeff Houghton
