Noon: Federal officials give update on Operation Warp Speed and COVID-19 vaccine distribution

On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Defense (DOD) will hold a briefing with senior officials to discuss Operation Warp Speed and COVID-19 vaccines.

According to a statement from Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller, 3.3 million vaccines were distributed on Monday.

"On behalf of Operation Warp Speed, I am proud to report that today, 3.3 million additional vaccines were distributed to the American people. Today’s great work brings the total number of vaccine doses distributed to 25,697,500," said Miller.

Operation Warp Speed is a public-private partnership to accelerate the testing, supply and development of vaccines to counter COVID-19.
