The cost of getting older is skyrocketing.
A private nursing home room may soon cost $100,000 a year, according to one report.
The median price of that room is already more than $97,000 a year.
That's an increase of more than 5 percent in just the last year.
The cost getting home health and services actually increased the most in the last 12 months. It's now $21-50 per hour. That's up more than 6 percent.
But care at home may still be a better option depending on how many hours a day you need it. It's less than the cost of a semi-private or private nursing home if you have a health aid come in 10 hours per day or less.
There are also benefits you may not know about that could save you money on long-term care.
One place you can check them out is through the National Council on Aging. Read more on their benefits checkup section here.
