This week New Yorkers will shed bad memories and get a fresh start for 2016.
Monday marks the annual recognition of Good Riddance Day. On this day, people write down any bad feelings or memories they have from the previous year and toss them into a giant paper shredder.

This event has been going on since 2007 and happens in the middle of Times Square.
