There's a new app available that could help keep you safe during flu season.

It's called Sickweather and it is basically a crowdsource map that tracks reported illnesses in real time.

Right now, cough and allergies are trending in Las Vegas.

There's also reports of fever.

Representatives for the app say that those reports can help them forecast an outbreak up to 15 weeks in advance, which could develop help people prepare.

There's no telling exactly how severe this year's flu season will be but health experts say that we can expect it to last through April and are suggesting that everyone gets vaccinated before Halloween.

And keep your phone handy. Smartphone apps like Sickweather can help you stay away from so-called sick zones this season.
