VIDEO: Michigan toddler busts a move after hearing for the first time

Posted

SALINE, Mich. — A 17-month-old girl from Saline, Michigan, was able to hear for the first time on Jan. 28, 2020.

Two months after she was born, it was found that Emma Chadwell had mild/moderate hearing loss and she received hearing aids.

After a CT scan, her parents found out that Emma had mondini dysplasia, an abnormality of the inner ear, and EVA, enlarged vestibular aqueduct. She would likely become profoundly deaf very quickly, doctors said.

The Chadwell family opted for Emma to receive cochlear implants, which she did in January.

When the toddler was able to hear for the first time, she heard the music from her toys and immediately started dancing. Luckily for us, the sweet moment was caught on camera.
