PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A Washington State Patrol trooper’s dashcam captured the incredible sight Thursday morning when a single-engine prop plane made an emergency landing on a highway.

The footage was captured by Trooper Thompson’s police cruiser dash camera.

Thompson was on patrol in east Pierce County when a KR2 single engine prop plan had to make an emergency landing due to a fuel system malfunction, according to authorities.

The video shows the trooper driving down the highway when the plan approaches from the opposite direction. Thompson activated his lights and sirens and made a U-turn to follow the plane, authorities said.

The pilot managed to land the plane safely in the middle of the road. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

Troopers helped move the plan off of the road and into the parking lot of a nearby Jiffy Lube.
