With all eyes on the Cavs for the NBA Finals, we don't always take the time to see what the organization is doing off the court, but they've made giving back to the community a major priority.
Kristin Warzocha, the President of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, told NewsChannel 5 they've worked with the Cavs a lot over the years.
"The Cavs have been an extraordinary partner," she said.
Terry Uhl, the President of Shoes or Clothes for Kids, agreed.
"They're not out there banging the drums on all the good things they do in the community," Uhl said.
The team lit the Q for this season's watch parties and the money raised will all be donated to local charities.
Last year the team donated $130,000 to Shoes and Clothes for Kids, those funds earned through watch parties.
Terry Uhl said the donation is still making an impact.
"This was an example of a significant new grant into the community, made a difference for kids," he said.
Kerry Buboltz, with the Cavs, told NewsChannel 5 giving back is a huge priority for the people in the front office and the guys on the court.
"People are really following the team right now, and we want to make sure we are doing our part to give back to a community that gives us so much," he said.
