COLUMBUS — When you leave police enough material to cut together a blooper reel, complete with sound effects, maybe a life of crime isn’t for you.

That’s exactly what happened to the “Bobcat Burglar” on July 31. The unidentified man, wearing an Ohio University Bobcats hoodie, had a determination matched only by his incompetence.

He tried using a concrete block to break the front door glass of the Dollar General at 4245 MacsWay Ave. in Columbus. The block ended up breaking.

He managed to make his way in and started looting the store of alcohol, cigarettes, food and electronics, only to fall. And fall again. And again.

“While crime isn't funny,” Columbus police stated, “This Bobcat burglar handed us these bloopers on a silver platter. We're on the prowl to identify him. We'll be head over heels happy when he's caught.”
