An Arizona man faces felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 221 pounds of marijuana, according to OSHP.

The marijuana seized was worth about $1 million, authorities reported.

Troopers reported a 2012 Dodge Caravan with an Arizona registration was stopped for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio turnpike at 12:10 a.m. on June 9.

A patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the car, officials said. A probable cause search revealed the hundreds of pounds of marijuana.

Paul Schmitt, 29, of Tucson, Ariz., was identified by authorities as the passenger in the vehicle. He was arrested and placed in Lucas jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana.

Schmitt could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
