The manufacturer of the ride that malfunctioned at the Ohio State Fair Wednesday evening, killing one and injuring several others, has ordered that parks cease operation of similar rides.
KMG, the Dutch company, issued a statement Thursday saying: "Our deepest sympathies go out to all who were involved or affected by this tragic accident."
While the company investigates, all owners of Fire Ball/Afterburner and Move-It type rides are instructed to cease operations until further notice.
Tyler Jarrell, 18, was killed when a passenger gondola on the Fire Ball ride detached from the supporting arm. Several others were injured.
