COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will not hold his briefing on the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic Wednesday afternoon. DeWine, along with Dr. Amy Acton and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, will resume their briefing from the statehouse on Thursday.

On Tuesday, COVID-19 data from the state shows cases were the lowest they have been in more than a month. The state reported 366 new cases, which is the lowest since April 27. It was also more than a hundred less than the 21-day average. Read more on the latest COVID-19 update here.

In light of recent protests against police violence and racial injustice across the country, DeWine made a commitment that he plans to increase the state’s efforts to improve health and economic disparities.

"We should all be outraged that in the year 2020, in Ohio and in this country, there's still inequality of opportunity and there is still racism," DeWine said. "The coronavirus, this global pandemic, has laid bare our vulnerabilities."
