Don't carry in Virginia starting next month

and last updated

Concealed carry permits issued in Ohio will no longer be considered valid in Virginia starting Feb. 1.

The Virginia Attorney General and Virginia State Police conducted an audit of the 30 states whose concealed carry permits the state recognized and ruled that 25 states do not meet Virginia's requirements for concealed carry permit recognition.

Essentially, Ohio's requirements for getting a concealed carry permit are not as stringent as Virginia's.

Virginia will recognize concealed carry permits from Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and West Virginia.
