LIST: Where to get a free Thanksgiving meal in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Thanksgiving is upon us and if you’re looking for a place to receive a hot meal, there are organizations in the Cleveland area offering to-go meals and drive-thru services for Thanksgiving dinners.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank partnered with organizations and churches to offer hot meals throughout the week leading up the holiday.

Cuyahoga County

    • 11/28 – Thea Bowman Center, 11901 Oakfield Ave., Cleveland, OH 44105, serving lunch from 10:00 am – 11:30 am
    • 11/28 – St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 8601 Wade Park Ave., Cleveland OH 44106, serving lunch from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
    • 11/21 – 11/28 – St. Herman House of Hospitality - F.O.C.U.S. Cleveland, 4410 Franklin Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44113, serving lunch at 11:30 am, serving dinner at 5:30 pm
    • 11/23 – 11/25, 11/28 – West Side Catholic Center, 3135 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44113; 11/23 – 11/25: 9:00 am – 10:00 am breakfast & 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm lunch; 11/28: 9:00 am – 10:00 am breakfast & 4:30 pm – 5:15 pm dinner

    • 11/29 – St. Albert the Great Parish, 6667 Wallings Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133, serving dinner from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

    Holiday Hot Meal Sites in Lake County:

    • 11/25 – Karpos Ministry, 242 N. State St., Painesville, OH 44077, serving dinner at 5:00 pm

    St. Augustine's Hunger Center

    Every year, the center located on Cleveland's West Side helps feed and distribute thousands of free meals to the Greater Cleveland area. This year, the majority of the meals will be delivered due to precautions against COVID-19.

    People who would like to have a meal delivered to them are encouraged to call the hunger center by noon Wednesday, at 216-781-5880. That is also the number to call if you'd like to volunteer.

    Those who register for a meal can visit the site to receive a packaged dinner 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

    This year, there are 16 service areas for meals.

    West Side sites in Cleveland are:

    • St. Augustine Church Hall, 2486 W. 14th St.
    • Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 4423 Pearl Road
    • Franklin Circle Church, 1688 Fulton Road

    East Side sites in Cleveland are:

    • House of God Church, 12306 Soika Ave., off East 116th Street
    • Fifth Christian Church, 14109 Benwood Ave.
    • Truelight Missionary Church, 1799 E. 55th St.
    • River of Life Ministries, 24600 E. 89thSt.
    • St. Paul Missionary Church, 7903 Kinsman Ave.
    • Anointed Gates Church, 800 E. 152nd St.
    • Willing Worker Missionary Church, 3510 E. 124th St.

    East suburban sites are:

    • Sanctuary Missionary Baptist Church, 4064 E. 131stSt., Garfield Heights and
    • Fellowship Church of God, 2481 Columbus Road, Bedford Heights.

    Sites in other counties are:

    • St. Elizabeth Center, 2776 Caroline Ave., Lorain
    • First Presbyterian Church, Huron
    • New Vision New Day Ministry, 1970 Everett Ave., Youngstown and
