CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns have claimed linebacker Elijah Lee off waivers from the Detroit Lions, the team announced Friday.
Lee, the linebacker who stands 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds, is in his fourth season in the NFL.
Originally a seventh-round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, Lee has played in 42 career games with the San Francisco 49ers and the Lions.
During his four NFL seasons, Lee has recorded 67 tackles, a sack and two forced fumbles on defense while recording 10 career special teams tackles.
Lee has appeared in four games with the Lions this season as a reserve.
Until he is able to join the team, in accordance with the league's COVID-19 testing protocols, he will not count against the Browns’ active roster and no subsequent roster moves are needed at this time.
