CANTON, Ohio — The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced six fans as nominees who have a chance to be inducted into the Ford Hall of Fans, a program that recognizes some of the most passionate NFL fans across the nation, and one of them is a fan of the orange and brown.
Ray Prisby, also known by many as “Showdawg,” has been nominated for the Class of 2021 fan inductees, representing the Cleveland Browns.
Prisby exclusively wears the colors orange and brown and has an “encyclopedic knowledge” of Browns history and stats.
The United States Air Force veteran has been building a collection of Browns memorabilia since 1961, which has been included in the Cleveland Browns museum at FirstEnergy Stadium.
In addition to his own personal fandom, Prisby has inspired the next generation of Browns fans, writing a children’s book that features a character who is a big Browns fan.
“I love to see young Browns fans’ faces light up when I give them a Browns gift because it’s totally unexpected,” Prisby said.
Prisby was informed of his nomination to be inducted into the Ford Hall of Fans by a Browns legend—Hall of Famer Jim Brown.
"I go to the door and there is standing Jim Brown and I was immediately reduced to a 12-year-old," Prisbby told News 5.

Prisby said he would be humbled and honored to be inducted into the HOF as a fan of the team he has loved since he was a young boy.
"I'm not over the shock of Jim Brown coming to my house, so I can't even imagine, and I'm just being honest, I can't even imagine what that would be like to get into the hall of fame," he said.
Voting runs through Feb. 1 and the winners will be honored at the Pro Football Hall of Fame during the 2021 Enshrinement Week in Canton.
If selected, Prisby would be the first Browns fan inducted into the Ford Hall of Fans, which was launched two years ago.
Prisby is up against an Arizona Cardinals fan, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a Las Vegas Raiders fan, a Dallas Cowboys fan and a Baltimore Ravens fan.
