The Browns are heading to the Square Mile. The NFL announcing, our brownies will play the Minnesota Vikings in London in 2017. It is all part of an expansion of the NFL's International Series. It is all part of the NFL's commitment to the U.K. market . There will be four games next season, up from three the season prior. The last time the browns played in England was 27 years ago; the first game of the preseason.
"It's part of who I am really. You can move the boy out of cleveland, but i guess you can't take Cleveland out of the boy." said Mike Kocsis.
Kocsis may sound like he has lived in England all his life, but the reality is, he was born and raised in Cleveland.
"Just being a browns fan is sort of in the blood, i suppose," said Kocsis.
Kocsis moved to London four years ago for work. He was gracious enough to grant News 5 an interview to talk about the Browns.
"I think American football offers some entertainment more than just British sports. I think this is what brings in a lot of people," said Kocsis.
He calls it great news, saying locals are thrilled.
"They're excited, they're just like, 'Ah this is incredible, can't wait.' just a lot of energy," said Kocsis.
It is not the first time a game has been played in England
"You can see it down Oxford Street. There will be the American flags, the NFL flags, Union Jack."
He is rooting for the for the orange and brown.
"Anything is possible really," said Kocsis.
We reached out to the Browns for comment, our requests for an interview were not answered.
