The Cleveland Browns have officially waived tight end Dae'Quan Wright, according to a roster move update shared on Monday.
If Wright clears waivers following this release, he will be set to play for LSU for the 2026 college football season, agent Drew Rosenhaus told The Associated Press on Monday.
Wright signed with the Philadelphia Eagles following the NFL draft and joined the Browns after he was released on Aug. 11. He didn’t play in Cleveland’s two preseason games.
Wright played two seasons for LSU coach Lane Kiffin in 2024 and 2025. He caught 39 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns for Ole Miss last season.
If he joins LSU, Wright is believed to be the first player to return to college after playing in the NFL.
