CLEVELAND — Cleveland fans believe there is a curse where only one local team can win in a day, and they may be right.

On Sunday night both the Indians and Browns played.

The Indians won a must-win game against the Philadelphia Phillies, but the Browns failed to beat the Los Angeles Rams.

Last season, the Browns won the first game in almost two years against the New York Jets, but the Indians lost to the Chicago White Sox after 11 innings of play.

The last time both teams won was in 2015. The Browns got their first win of the season against the Tennessee Titans and the Indians beat the White Sox.

Before that, both teams won twice in 2013 on the same day.

Since the Browns returned to Cleveland in 1999, both teams have only won on the same day 13 times. They have both played on the same day 63 times.

The Indians play their last game of the regular season on Sunday against the Washington Nationals and the Browns take on the conference rival Baltimore Ravens.

Hopefully this will be the first time in four years that both teams can secure a victory for the land.
