Former Cleveland Browns general manager and ex-NFL star Dwight Clark passed away at the age of 61 after a battle with ALS.
Clark's wife, Kelly, tweeted the news on Monday.
I’m heartbroken to tell you that today I lost my best friend and husband. He passed peacefully surrounded by many of the people he loved most. I am thankful for all of Dwight’s friends, teammates and 49ers fans who have sent their love during his battle with ALS. Kelly Clark.

Clark was the Browns' general manager from 1999-2002.
Clark started his career after being selected as the 10th overall pick in the 1979 NFL Draft. He played in two Pro Bowls and lead the NFL in receptions in 1982. Clark was also a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams. His No. 87 jersey has been retired by the 49ers.
