CLEVELAND — Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield can add another accolade to his resume. On Tuesday, the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) voted him as the 2018 Rookie of the year.

In addition to the prestigious award, Mayfield has also won over Cleveland’s fan base. His numbers alone tell the story. As the first overall pick in the 2018 draft, the former Heisman Trophy winner completed 310 of 486 passes for 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns. He helped change that attitude and atmosphere in Berea, from a team that struggled to stay afloat to an organization seemingly on the brink of becoming a a top competitor in the NFL.

Mayfield is no stranger to accolades in his rookie season. He was a seven-time Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. He also received the AFC Offensive Player of the Week in week 16.

The PFWA also voted New York Giant’s running back, Saquon Barkley, as the Offensive Rookie of the Year and Indianapolis Colts linebacker, Darius Leonard, as the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
