CLEVELAND — Fresh off of shotgunning a beer at an Indians game, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is now downing a different beverage: BodyArmor Sports Drink.
BodyArmor announced Thursday that Mayfield is the newest athlete spokesperson and stakeholder for their line of sports drinks.
Mayfield made the announcement in true Baker fashion with a video tour of the new QB RV, complete with a fridge stocked with BodyArmor.
Mayfield told Fast Company that he’s been a BodyArmor customer for a while, and he was impressed with the company’s growing list of athlete stakeholders.
“One of the first people involved with BodyArmor was Kobe Bryant, someone I’ve always looked up to mentality-wise, in terms of competing, really being who you are, and working for your success,” he said. “So all of that coming together made it the right fit. Then, the opportunity to be an investor is a great fit and feels natural.”
Will we be seeing Mayfield chugging a bottle of BodyArmor in the style of his now-famous Indians game beer shotgun?
With a laugh, Baker said the folks at BodyArmor did bring that up as a possibility.
