CLEVELAND — While the full Browns 2019 schedule is expected to be released in coming days, fans may now know who the Browns will open the season with thanks to Odell Beckham Jr. dropping a hint on Twitter. Reading between the lines, it looks like the season opener will be against the New York Jets.

Beckham wrote on Twitter Wednesday night: "Just seen the schedule, it's funny how God and the universe works...Week 1 surprise."

Beckham went further to comment on an Instagram post by Jets safety Jamal Adams, "See you week one."

Adams replied "count it."

The Browns and Jets played the first ever Monday night game. If the Browns aren't opening the season against the Patriots, as some have speculated they might, a Browns-Jets Monday night matchup is both historic, and it pits two of the NFL's top young quarterbacks (Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold) against each other, and, yeah, there's the whole Odell and New York thing.

The Browns are scheduled to hit the road for games against the Patriots and the Jets from the AFC East, Cardinals and the 49ers from the NFC West and the third-place Broncos from AFC West, according to the Browns.

Celebrating its 100th season, the NFL will open with the league's oldest rivalry, the Packers versus the Bears on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 8:20 p.m. ET, according to the NFL.

Specific times and dates for each game will be announced by the Browns in the coming weeks. None of the Browns’ preseason opponents will appear on their regular schedule.
