BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was sent home Thursday before practice after feeling “under the weather.”

Stefanski said that the decision to send Beckham home was out of an abundance of caution and keeping COVID-19 protocols in mind.

Beckham had a COVID-19 test done before leaving the facility and will have results back tomorrow, but the team did not indicate that it believes he has the virus. He was just feeling ill and the team was just being cautious, Stefanski said.

The Browns are on high alert this year due to the virus to ensure no outbreaks arise at the facility, and that high alert prompted the team to send Beckham home to be safe.
