CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns new offensive coordinator is starting to figure out Baker Mayfield, according to ESPN.
Todd Monken said Mayfield takes football seriously but also loves to have fun.
Monken said he noticed right away that Mayfield has a competitive spirit and wants to be the best at what he does.
“He’s a serious guy when it comes to the game of football,” Monken said. “I am telling you when you are in the meetings and you are out here, he wants to be coached and he wants to be great.”
Mayfield will be transitioning from rookie to team leader this season and Monken said he is already embracing that role.
The Browns added wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and runningback Kareem Hunt to help out with their offense.
If the Browns can live up to the hype, this season should be a fun one.
