Twenty-four players have started as quarterback for the Cleveland Browns since the team returned to town in 1999. On Wednesday, Browns fans and media alike got to meet the man who could become number 25: Robert Griffin III.
Griffin said he's ready.
"It's not about I or me, it's about us. It's about us versus everyone outside of our locker room," he said.
RG3 said he's excited and that Cleveland's time is now.
"We're all hungry. We all have a chip on our shoulder, we haven't eaten dinner in a long time. We're gonna go get it," Griffin said.
The Browns tried to trade up in the 2012 draft to pick Griffin, but it didn't work out. Four years later, both sides are hoping for a match made in heaven.
"Guys sometimes don't want to come here. I wanted to come here. I want to be here and I want them to know that. They call this the land. We're gonna make this ours and give these fans what they deserve," he said.
Skeptics across the sports world are doubting RG3 can revive his career in Cleveland, but it is that skepticism that this former number two overall draft pick feeds on.
"No pressure? No diamonds," Griffin said.
