Controversy after controversy. The Cleveland Browns have waived Quarterback Johnny Manziel.

After multiple problems and run-ins with the law, most fans told newsnet5.com they saw the decision coming from a mile away.

Since getting drafted, first round, almost two years ago, Manziel started eight games for the Browns, but it was problems off the field that made headlines.

Partying and drinking, photos and videos are still popping up weekly of Manziel going wild.

He had a stint in rehab, and most recently, domestic violence assault complaints from his ex-girlfriend.

Browns fan Jennifer Rich said it was time for him to go.

"Manziel sucks anyway! He needed to be off our team. We aren't gonna win if he's crying and whining about his ex girlfriend! Who wants to hear that?!" Rich said.

But not everyone in Cleveland said they're breathing a sigh of relief.

"He's gonna mature, just like Josh Gordon, he's gonna mature, and he's gonna come back and light the league up," Don Crump said.

Right now, all Johnny's been seen lighting up are nightclubs on the West Coast. newsnet5.com asked fans what they thought.

"He could be having a party, breaking some stuff, I know that," Melanie Yarrito said.

Waiving Manziel won't be cheap for the organization. The Browns' salary-cap hit for releasing Manziel is more than $4 million.
