CLEVELAND — A floating barge off the shores of Lake Erie just across from Huntington Bank Field had many waiting for the Browns-branded tarp to be taken off to see what was underneath.
Watch:
The mystery was solved Wednesday afternoon, as the Browns revealed a new alternate helmet for the upcoming 2025 season on the Pat McAfee Show.
About an hour later, the tarp was removed from the helmet on the lake.

Back in 2022, the league began allowing teams to alternate between two helmet designs. The Browns have added a white helmet with an orange and brown stripe up the center as that second option, the secondary helmet complementing the all-white "1946" throwback alternate uniforms nicely.
Then, in April, the league expanded its helmet rule to include a third option beginning in the 2025 season. The second and third helmets, known as "alternate color helmets," can only be worn with one of the club's authorized optional uniforms — their standard, alternate or color rush sets.
With the unveiling of the new alternate helmet, the Browns have expanded their gameday wardrobe, with the new gear joining the alternate white and the classic orange with white facemask options already available.
The Browns' helmet unveiling comes on the first day of training camp open to media. The preparation for the 2025 season has begun, and with it comes the hard work on the fields in Berea and a new piece of gear for players to add to their lockers.
