The Cavaliers Scream Team dances in front of thousands and thousands of people at the Cavs home games. Their leader is Meach Bolling. Despite the name of their team, Bolling considers himself a quiet person.
“Coming up in school I never participated in contests or nothing and talent shows and things like that," Bolling told NewsChannel 5’s Lauren Brill.
His senior year of high school he finally took the stage.
“My senior year was my breakout year,” Bolling explained. “I finally got on the stage and broke out and I say I became me.”
Shortly after his high school graduation someone tried to turn off the music.
“I graduated June 3 and I got shot on June 6,” Bolling recalled. “It was rough and the recovery took me about a year to fully recover from it.”
It did not stop him from moving to the melody but it did change the beat of his drum.
“It kind of just opened my eyes and made me appreciate life. It made me appreciate the little things.” Bolling said.
He added, “I am extremely happy. I am extremely positive you rarely catch me on the down side.”
That is how he dances through life. He tries to teach others that same choreography.
Scream Team member Nino explained,”I pulled him over a lot of times because it may be something that I am going through and he can be saying something simple but that attitude and that vibe that comes off of him you are in a better mood.”
Pinque, also a member of the Scream Team added, “He’s taught me to take the punches how they roll and just go with it with a smile on your face."
While Bolling may be quiet in sound, it’s clear that his teammates have no trouble hearing his message.
“You never seem him struggle. He accepts the challenge and lets it make him better,” Scream Team member Motion explained. “That’s an awesome inspiration.”
Bolling explained, “I just try to lead by example and when people follow it is just like gold to me.”
