AVON, Ohio — The Cleveland Comets will be playing half of their homes game in Avon this year.

The Comets will play 12 of their 24 games at Sprenger Health Care Stadium.

The agreement with the Stadium’s primary tenants, the Lake Erie Crushers, will provide for Comets games in June and July.

“We are extremely proud to announce our continued partnership with the Lake Erie Crushers and Sprenger Stadium”, said Comets GM Steve Dunn. “Our mission is to provide an exceptional fan experience, in combination with the world’s most elite talent in the game of fastpitch to the Northeast Ohio community. We strongly believe that Sprenger Stadium gives us the ability to deliver that to our fans, and hopefully for years to come.”

Two separate home series are scheduled at Sprenger this summer.

The Comets will play six games starting June 12 through June 16.

They will return for another six-game stand in July, starting July 9 through July 14.

“Sprenger Stadium is an incredible venue! After seeing the success that the Comets had in Avon last season, I feel confident that this community will show up to support our amazing athletes each and every night," Comets co-owner Bernie Kosar said.

The remainder of their games will be played at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
