Greater Cleveland Sports Commission announces winners of 20th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards

CLEVELAND — Local athletes gathered in a packed ballroom in downtown Cleveland for the 20th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards on Wednesday.

Highlights from the night included an appearance from Cleveland Indians broadcaster Tom Hamilton and UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic, who received Professional Athlete of the Year Award.

Recipients of the 20th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards include:

Male High School Athlete of the Year: Kyle Cusimano, Bay Village High School, soccer

Female High School Athlete of the Year: Kirsten Eppele, Strongsville High School, softball

Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year: Jordin James, University of Mount Union, Wrestling

Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year: Naz Hillmon, University of Michigan Basketball, Gilmour Academy

Professional Athlete of the Year: Stipe Miocic, Heavyweight Champion, UFC

Cleveland Clinic Sports Health Courage Award: Skylar Scarnecchia, Champion Middle School basketball, track and field and volleyball.

Lifetime Achievement Award: The Dolan Family
