The Cleveland Indians have reportedly traded catcher Yan Gomes to the Washington Nationals, according to multiple sources.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the Indians acquired minor league right fielder Daniel Johnson in exchange for Gomes.

Gomes is coming off an All-Star season. He hit .266 with 16 homers and 48 RBI.
The Indians have just two catchers left on their roster, Roberto Perez and Eric Haase.
Johnson, who has played three years on multiple minor league teams had an impressive last season.
Johnson hit .269 with seven home runs, 35 RBI, 51 runs scored and stole 22 bases out of his attempted 26.
