The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating multiple crashes that occurred on Interstate 90 Thursday afternoon in Leroy Township after a heavy snowfall.
Twenty commercial vehicles, one Greyhound bus and more than 20 cars were involved in several crashes at 2:45 p.m., according to a highway patrol news release.
Multiple people were transported to TriPoint and Geauga hospitals, with three people sustaining serious injuries.
There were no confirmed fatalities in the crashes.
The crashes caused authorities to shut down I-90 for more than 12 hours. It was reopened about 6 a.m. Friday.
