The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park remains closed after widespread rain and flash flooding left roads and trails underwater on Sunday.
The park said the Towpath Trail remains closed, as do all the trailheads and restrooms along the towpath.
Because the park hasn’t had a chance to assess all the other hiking trails, they are asking park-goers to choose other options for getting outside.
Park officials say conditions may still be muddy and flooded with downed trees and extensive damage from high water in some areas.
On Sunday, the towpath trail from Ira Road to Lock 39 was consumed with high water levels.
