PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Grand River Tuesday morning.

The Flood Warning is in effect until further notice, the NWS says.

The Grand River is expected to rise near the flood stage Tuesday. Water levels will overrun the banks along the metropark south of Painesville.

Local law enforcement told the NWS that Recreation Park in Painesville is flooding because of an ice jam.

Kiwanis and Grand River Landing are flooded, according to the Lake County Emergency Management Director.

As of 5 a.m., the stage was 6.3 feet with the flood stage being 8 feet.
