National Weather Service confirms EF2 tornado touched down in Williamsfield

After further surveying the damage left by severe storms, the National Weather Service confirmed an EF2 tornado touched down in Williamsfield on Sunday.

125 mph winds ripped through Ashtabula County Sunday night, destroying peoples' homes and leaving behind serious damage.

Preliminary data showed the damage was caused by a macroburst and straight-line winds. Intense macrobursts can cause tornado-force damage of up to EF3 intensity, according to the National Weather Service.

Nine tornados in Northern Ohio and one in Northwest Pennsylvania were confirmed by the National Weather Service on Monday.

An EF-1 tornado was confirmed in Bloomingville in Erie County around 2:42 p.m. Monday. Two homes were damaged in its path.
