National Dessert Day is one of the few days of the year one can overindulge in the most decadent, delicious desserts out there. With Cleveland's abundance of bakeries and cafes, the options are endless, so we picked out our favorite places to grab a sweet treat.

Coquette Patisserie

Specializing in French pastries, macarons, cakes and savory plates, this cafe offers all the variety for a person looking for a particular sweet treat. Some of their options include bonita apple bomb, pumpkin cheesecake and roof down.

Farkas Pastry Shop

Authentic should be the middle name of this bakery. This pastry shop has been in Cleveland for more than 45 years, specializing in handmade European pastries. Farkas originals include Napoleons, a delicious dessert with light layers of vanilla custard and puff pastry. The chocolate rum squares are also a must-try, which are made with dark rum and real chocolate buttercream.

Sweet Moses

Named after our city's founder Moses Cleveland, this ice cream shop takes customers back to a time when soda fountains were a tradition. Homemade ice cream is served behind an authentic Bastion Blessings soda fountain. Their signature sundaes are named after Cleveland landmarks like The Gordon Square, Shoreway Sundae and the Terminal Tower, which has a whopping 10 scoops of ice cream. With warm weather in October, ice cream is a must-have.
