Cleveland police released more information about the two shootings at Public Square on Saturday night.

Police originally released a statement saying a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest. Upon further investigation, the 17-year-old was injured when he shot a gun while running from police, causing him to get a powder burn on his body.

Cleveland police said the chase first started with three RTA officers running after the teen southbound on Ontario Avenue and W. Huron Road.

Police ordered the teen to stop running and show his hands, which appeared to be near his waistband, according to the police report.

The teen stepped down into the street in front of a parked car and ducked down briefly before stepping back onto the sidewalk and tossing the gun over the fence, which landed in a parking lot and was later recovered.

He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

Once arrested, he told police that he got off the RTA Healthline and began to walk across the street.

He further explained how he noticed there were no officers around but started to get nervous when he noticed police walking behind him.

That's when he began to run while looking behind him at police.

The teen was taken to the hospital for a burn on his upper right thigh before being booked.

The second incident involved a man who was arguing with his child's mother.

A witness told police that he heard gunshots and saw a man on bike flee from the scene. After looking around for any potential evidence, police were unable to locate any shell casings but surveillance showed a black man wearing a yellow shirt, green hoodie and dark-colored pants riding a white bike on Ontario before making a left turn on Prospect Avenue.

The video showed the suspect fire multiple shots at the 27-year-old man who was standing in front of the north side doors of Tower City.

Police followed the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center where he told police that he was talking to his child's mother on the phone who was on her way to pick him up from Tower City.

The victim identified the suspect as Randall Wallace, 26, who he told police is the brother of his child's mother.

Wallace approached him and started a verbal argument before firing several shots at him, police report says.

The victim suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest. Police are still trying to locate the suspect.

Cleveland police said the two incidents 'appear to be unrelated'.
