Shaker Heights police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to carjack an elderly woman at a grocery store.

The incident occurred on Aug. 7 in the handicapped lot of Heinen’s on Chagrin Boulevard.

A witness called police when she saw a man jump into the back of the 86-year-old victim’s car and place his hands around the elderly woman’s neck.

The victim told authorities the suspect tried to make her drive away with him.

The man then fled on foot.  The caller was able to give a description of the suspect to police.

Police released a sketch of the man on Tuesday.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black man between the ages of 18 and 21. He stands between 5-foot 6-inches and 5-foot 9-inches tall, weighs about 125-140 pounds and has a thin mustache. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and brightly colored socks.
