Suspect in recent Akron internet robberies arrested

The man accused of robbing several people during internet purchase meet-ups has been arrested, according to Akron Police.

Officers from the Akron SWAT team and detectives executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Alphada Drive where three robberies had taken place.

Terrance McCormick Jr., 19, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

McCormick was charged in the July 30 robbery of a 28-year-old man. The man reportedly tried to sell a cell phone to McCormick via the internet. When the victim drove up to Alphada Drive to meet McCormick, McCormick pulled out a gun and demanded his cell phone. McCormick fled with the victim's phone.

Additional charges are expected.
