Homes light up blue ahead of Lorain Police Officer’s funeral
Beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. Thursday, deputies and officers from around will be covering Lorain Police’s patrols as a sign of support while they grieve the loss of Officer Phillip Wagner. Homeowners across the area have also begun to decorate their homes with blue lights on their front porches to show support.
Funeral arrangements for Officer Phillip Wagner
There will be a memorial service for fallen Lorain police officer, Phillip Wagner, tomorrow morning. The City of Lorain says it will be held at Rocket Arena in Downtown Cleveland. The public can start arriving at 10:00 a.m., and the service begins promptly at 11:00 a.m.
Guardians Pitcher, Emmanuel Clase placed on leave
The Guardians will be taking the field without another one of their pitchers. Emmanuel Clase has been placed on leave through the end of August. The team says it was notified by the MLB that his non-disciplinary paid leave is part of their investigation into sports betting.

Traffic impacts
Dover Center Road between Bassett Road and Hilliard Boulevard will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. today for water main repairs.
The intersection of Portz Parkway and SOM Center Road will be closed for two weeks starting today. Access to Portz Parkway from Aurora Road will remain open, along with access to other spots along the roadway.
I-277 east between I-76 and I-77 is now open in Akron.
