West Side Catholic Center remains invaluable resource for those in need through COVID-19 pandemic

CLEVELAND — The West Side Catholic Center is working through the COVID-19 pandemic to help those most vulnerable have the support they need.

While the center is no stranger to helping those in need, some modifications have had to be made to keep everyone safe.

Instead of the daily dine-in meals normally provided to the homeless and hungry, the center is now offering to-go meals so individuals can still get the food they need.

Services such as meeting with social workers, case managers and family coaches are ongoing but reduced to small groups or one-on-one settings while practicing social distancing.

In-person donations of clothes and household items aren’t able to be accepted by the center at this time, but it is accepting direct-shipment donations through Amazon and Target for those wanting to help.

The West Side Catholic Center has even installed bathrooms behind the building for those without a home to have a clean place to wash up and stay hygienic.

The center is located at 3135 Lorain Ave. in Cleveland.
