Aug. 24 Update: Check out new video showing the progress of construction on the home:
News 5 is a proud media sponsor for “A Home for the Holidays,” a special project that will make someone’s wish of owning a home come true this year while benefiting Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and the Home Builders Association’s Charitable and Education Foundation.
The drawing for the new home will take place on New Year’s Eve – Dec. 31, 2020. Tickets are $50 each, and there is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase.
The house that will be given away will be a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom 2,084 square foot ranch-style home located in Strongsville with a 1,000 square foot finished basement and a sun room. Its estimated value is $493,000. Check back in November for a virtual tour of the model home, which is being built by Parkview Homes.
Proceeds from the A Home for the Holidays project will go to Make-A-Wish OKI, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. To date, the organization has granted more than 17,500 life-changing wishes and relies on the support of the public to make these wishes come true.
Proceeds also go to the HBA Charitable and Education Foundation, founded in 2012 to provide scholarships for students entering the construction industry, and to give back to the community through special charitable donations, including to the Greater Cleveland Fisher House, Homes for Our Troops, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Make-A-Wish.
