CLEVELAND — A unique concert experience is coming to Downtown Cleveland this summer and it’s one you won’t want to miss.

Candlelight Open Air: Beethoven’s Best Works is scheduled to be held at the beginning of June on the front lawn of the Great Lakes Science Center—a classical music performance with a twist as it’s held outdoors and the venue is bathed in ambient candlelight.

There are multiple showings scheduled. There are two showtimes, 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., scheduled for Wednesday, June 2, and Thursday, June 3.

The concerts will be socially distant and the experience will be contactless, with cashless payment options and fewer tickets with contactless validation. Temperature checks will be conducted and face masks and hand sanitizer will be available for guests to use.

Guests must be 10 years or older and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

For obvious safety reasons, the candles used to light the venue will be flameless.

Music will be performed by Cleveland musicians who are part of the Listeso String quartet

Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night, a serene family outing, or a relaxing night to yourself while enjoying some of Beethoven’s most famous numbers, Candlelight Open Air provides a unique experience for all.

Tickets are only being offered online and refunds are not available. Instead, those who can not attend after purchasing tickets will have the opportunity to exchange the tickets for other dates or times that are available.

Each concert will last a little more than an hour and “doors” open 45 minutes prior to the show.

Parking will be available for purchase at the Great Lakes Science Center’s parking garage.

Videos and photos will not be permitted during the performances. Guests can take pictures or video before the performance or after it is finished.
