A man died following a motorcycle crash on North Ridge Road in Sheffield Township on Saturday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Around 3:30 p.m. a man was driving a motorcycle westbound on North Ridge Road when he collided with a car that was driving just ahead of him. The man was ejected from his motorcycle and the driver of the car fled the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Tyler A. Marrero of Elyria was was transported to University Hospital Elyria Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries. Merrero was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Police found the man who was driving the car, 28-year-old, Danny F. Emery of Elyria, Ohio at his home a short time after the crash. Emery was cooperative with police.
The case is still under investigation and has been referred to Lorain County Prosecutor's Office in regards to if charges will be filed.
