The wait is finally over for steak and seafood fans. Ruth's Chris Steak House will open its Cleveland location, only the second one in Ohio, at 200 Public Square on Monday, March 13.

It marks the company's 153rd location worldwide.

The upscale dining steak house is known for many things in the restaurant industry. Its signature red doors, award-winning wine list, personalized customer and dining service, and the most important, its top graded USDA prime steaks that are sourced from the top 2% of the country's beef.

When guests walk into the restaurant, the interior design and friendly staff are immediately apparent. In the 11,000 square foot restaurant, there are two private dining rooms for various occasions. On the street level, the bar is both inviting and relaxed with windows providing guests with an outside view and televisions that cater to Cleveland 's loyal sports fans. Taking on a Cleveland personality, the dining area is coined 'The Euclid Room' and the private dining room on the second floor is named 'The Superior Room'.

Least expensive and most expensive entrees at Ruth's Chris:

  • Tomahawk Ribeye: USDA Prime bone-in 40 oz, well-marbled for peak flavor $115
  • Stuffed chicken breast: oven roasted, free-range double breasted chicken, garlic herb cheese and a warm lemon butter $29
"Cleveland is home to a large fan base when it comes to sports so we thought it was important to include tv's in the bar area so guests can watch whatever game is going on. It's a feature that you don't necessarily see in an upscale steak house, but we thought it was a resemblance of Cleveland's commitment to sports," said Amy Nickel, a marketing manager at Ruth's Chris Steak House.

At the heart of Ruth's Chris Steak House is the food. From a sizzling 11oz filet to the signature display of the chilled seafood tower, guests can choose from a plethora of options ranging from salads, appetizers, steaks, and seafood.

"You can hear it before you see it," said Nickel while describing the signature cooking style of all the steaks that come out from the kitchen to the plate. All the steaks are cooked at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit to lock in the corn-fed flavor and then served on a 500-degree plate so the steak remains hot throughout the entire meal.

For work days that seem long, Ruth's offers a $9 Sizzle, Swizzle, & Swirl happy hour from Sunday through Friday at 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the bar area. Happy hour specials include a prime burger with fries and a crab BLT with zucchini fries for $9, among other delicious and savory dishes.

Ruth's Chris joins a burgeoning downtown restaurant scene with other high-end steak houses and a newly renovated Public Square. Now, Clevelanders will have another good reason to flock to the downtown area.
