PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — Frosty's Bar has decided to close until further due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Put-in-Bay.

The bar closed on Wednesday, July 8, citing that a few members of the management team and members of our restaurant family have been identified as primary contracts of people who tested positive from the island.

“In order to ensure the safety of our restaurant family and island guests, we decided the best course of action was to close until we are sure our family is healthy,” the restaurant said in a statement.

The Ottawa County Health Department, in partnership with the Ohio National Guard and Magruder Hospital, have coordinated a COVID-19 testing site for island employees, which will happen on Friday and Saturday.

The results for the test should be returned within 24-72 hours, at which time the Frosty's said it will make an announcement about reopening.

All employees will be required to present a negative test before returning to work.
